Japanese model manufacturer Tamiya represents the pinnacle of precision, dedication and attention to detail – and the company has recently released a fully working radio-controlled Freightliner Cascadia tractor unit in the UK.
To celebrate, Trucking has teamed up with The Hobby Company, Tamiya’s UK distributor, to offer one lucky reader a stunning prize: a 1/14th scale model Cascadia kit, radio equipment, battery and charger worth £500! The Cascadia Evolution is an aerodynamically advanced and more fuel-efficient version of the Cascadia tractor unit manufactured by Freightliner Trucks for the North American market. This RC model assembly kit of the Cascadia Evolution faithfully recreates the truck’s fuel-efficient form, and includes a number of metal chassis parts. The truck’s aerodynamic profile was accurately captured thanks to extensive research and cooperation from Freightliner and its parent company, Daimler.
The model also features accurate interior details, such as dashboard and seats. Gloss- and matte-finished metal-plated parts further heighten the model’s realism. As additional extras – though not included in the competition prize – the tractor unit can be augmented with a realistic LED lighting kit to accurately recreate front and rear lights, and a rumble kit to produce authentic engine vibrations when in operation.
