Inspired by September’s Truck Driver Appreciation Week in the US, Trucking magazine, Truckstop News and Transport Café have teamed up with insurance company Staveley Head to launch our first EVER #TruckerOfTheYear competition to find the UK’s most awesome HGV driver – as we reckon it’s about time UK truckers were celebrated too!
How to enter
You can nominate yourself, a friend, a family member or a colleague by telling us why they deserve to be named Trucker of the Year in one of the following ways:
- Replying to us on Twitter using the hashtag #TruckerOfTheYear
- Commenting on our Facebook Posts or posting to our Page
We’ll announce THREE weekly winners every Friday from October 9 and our overall Trucker of the Year on October 30.
Weekly prizes
As well as the chance to claim the coveted ‘Trucker of the Year’ title, each week we’ll be picking three winners to receive:
- Annual subscription to one of the following magazines: Trucking Magazine, Truckstop News, Classic Truck, Vintage Road Scene, Classic Van and Pick-up OR Classic and Vintage Commercial
- ‘Trucker of the Year’ Staveley Head branded fleece
- Truck Test Yearbook

Terms & Conditions
By participating in the Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions; any breach of these Terms & Conditions by a winner may result in the forfeiture of their prize. In the event of any dispute regarding the Promotion and/or these Terms & Conditions the decision of Staveley Head Limited shall be final.
The Promotion is only open to UK residents, aged over 18 excluding employees of the Promoter and all those professionally associated with this Promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to ask entrants for verification, including but not limited to: address; proof of residency; age and name. No purchase necessary. One entry per person.
To be considered a valid entry, the nominee will need to follow the given instructions on Facebook and Twitter.
The winning entries will be chosen by Staveley Head Limited.
Entry for the Promotion opens on 01.10.15 and closes on 29.10.15 (the “Promotional Period”). Participants must submit their entries before 23:59 BST on the closing date. Weekly winners will be selected at 12:00 each Friday. Weekly entries must be submitted by 11:00 each Friday to qualify for weekly entry. The grand prize winner will be announced on or after 30.10.15.
The winners will be notified via the channel they entered and must respond to the communication within 3 days or the prizes will be offered to another entrant.
The winners may be requested to take part in the publicity of this Promotion. By participating in this Promotion you grant us permission to use your name and likeness for advertising and future promotional purposes without additional compensation.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for system errors or other issues that may result in a disruption to the Promotion including disruption to the Facebook or Twitter platforms. This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Twitter.
