Junction 45 is a new purpose built truckstop located off the M6, just outside of Gretna. Coming from a transport background, owner Robert wanted to create something that provides drivers with well kept and thought out facilities for when they are away from home.
The site is a long term project and will be evolving over time with plenty of plans in the pipeline.
Currently you will find fuel pumps located close to the entrance of the site, making it easy to access. Conveniently located next to the fuel area are clean and well kept toilet facilities and a well stocked shop. The shop sells everything from food and drink on the go, to work supplies and everyday essentials.
At present the site houses a large hardstanding parking area with space for 150 trucks, with a dedicated space for trailer swaps and fridge parking. With parking available 24/7.
Adjacent to the parking area is a large building where you will find a wide range of facilities. There is a security office on entry where you can pay for parking and showers.
The corridor is lined with modern washrooms that are easily accessible. Each room has a washbasin, toilet, walk in shower, seating and space to hang up belongings. The rooms were designed so everything drivers need to freshen up is all in one space.
Next to the female shower room there is also a dedicated vanity area with mirrors, hairdryers and bench space.
Washers and dryers can be found at the far end of the corridor, with a bench for folding and sorting washing along with a vending machine with lots of useful items such as toiletries and washing supplies. If you are caught out unexpectedly on a night out, they have you covered with everything you may need to hand.
The restaurant is fully accessible and has a ramp access. The area is a modern and well thought out out design. There is a dining area with plenty of seating and for a more relaxed feel there is a comfortable bar space. The menu offers a large selection of good quality meals made fresh to order. The restaurant also benefits from a number of large TV Screens.
Outside is a welcoming seating area, perfect for enjoying the warmer weather.
Robert and his team are passionate about building a community feel at the truckstop just like the good olde days. Since opening the truckstop has received ongoing support from drivers who have welcomed the much needed facilities.
