Bournemouth-based HJ Cole Haulage has made a return to Renault Trucks, by adding a C460 8×4 to its fleet.

The bulk haulier, which runs a fleet of five trucks cited numerous reasons for choosing the French manufacturer.

For example, close proximity of the dealer was a big plus.

In addition, the return to Renault was aided by HJ Cole Haulage having had previously positive experiences.

Supplied by Sparks Commercial Services, the new C460 has an Aliweld bulk tipping body.

As a result, it will be working on animal feed, woodchip and some aggregates delivery around the UK.

Owner of HJ Cole Haulage, Keith Trickett said he was delighted to have another Renault on the fleet.

“We used to run Renault Trucks and we always found them to be good, reliable vehicles,” he explained.

“In more recent years we had moved the fleet to a competitor manufacturer.

“However, when Rob Coxon, from Sparks Commercial Services got in touch, I thought we would have another look.

“Business has remained stable and I like to replace the trucks every five years.”

In other words, the C460 looked like a good fit for our operation.”

Inside, the new C460 with sleeper cab is spec’d with driver comfort in mind.

The truck has four-point cab air suspension, luxury driver’s seat, and a leather steering wheel.

Furthermore, there’s a memory foam mattress topper, fridge, and storage lockers.

Meanwhile, the truck is equipped with Alcoa Dura-Bright aluminium wheels and two roof-mounted air horns.

Importantly, the driver approves of the return to Renault Trucks on the operator’s fleet.

“The driver is delighted, he likes the spacious cab, gearbox and engine,” says Trickett.

“He used to drive a Renault Trucks Lander, then swapped to a competitor manufacturer’s vehicle.

“Now, he’s come back to Renault Trucks and is very happy.”
