LTS Global Solutions has expanded its employee benefits package as the Coleshill-based logistics and supply chain specialist looks to improve staff retention, reward long service and support the wellbeing of its workforce.
The company has introduced a range of measures covering annual leave, financial rewards, healthcare, training and professional development. The package is designed to help employees manage their working lives alongside personal and family commitments.
Recruitment and retention remain significant challenges across the UK haulage and logistics industry, with employers competing to attract experienced drivers, warehouse staff and other skilled workers.
LTS believes that competitive salaries and job security are only part of the picture, with additional benefits playing an increasingly important role in attracting and retaining employees.
More annual leave and long-service rewards
All LTS employees who have successfully completed their probationary period can access the company’s benefits package.
The business offers 33 days of annual leave as standard, comprising 25 days of holiday and eight bank holidays. This is five days above the statutory minimum for a full-time employee working a five-day week.
Long-serving employees receive additional recognition, with those reaching five, 10 and 15 years of service awarded an extra day’s annual leave and gifts worth £100, £250 and £500 respectively.
Employees also receive a half-day off for their birthday. A further half-day may be awarded at the company’s discretion to those who have taken no sickness leave or unauthorised absence during the preceding three months.
From April 2027, employees with at least 12 months of service will also have the opportunity to purchase additional annual leave, giving them greater flexibility over their time away from work.
Financial rewards and employee recognition
LTS has introduced financial incentives designed to encourage employees to contribute ideas and support recruitment.
Staff who suggest improvements to the workplace can receive rewards ranging from £50 to £1,000, depending on the proposal.
An employee referral scheme provides a £250 payment when a recommended candidate joins the company and successfully completes their probationary period.
The company also offers a workplace pension, a £50,000 death-in-service benefit and access to discounts on cinema tickets and everyday shopping.
Health and wellbeing support
Physical and mental wellbeing form another part of the expanded package.
Employees have access to an on-site gym, providing an opportunity to exercise during the working day.
A health plan helps staff meet the cost of everyday healthcare, while an employee assistance programme provides confidential support around the clock.
The package also includes financial education, helping employees make informed decisions about their personal finances.
Alongside these benefits, LTS provides training and development programmes intended to improve employees’ skills, support career progression and promote safe working practices.
Recognising the contribution of employees
Dave Hands, Managing Director of LTS Global Solutions, said the package reflects the company’s recognition of the contribution its workforce makes to the business.
“The loyalty and commitment of our staff is critical to the ongoing success of our business and we feel it is important to reward every member of our team who on a daily basis contributes to taking the company to where we want it to be.”
He added that the business wants employees to feel supported in their professional development while recognising the importance of life outside work.
“We want LTS to be a place where people feel valued, supported and able to achieve their personal and professional goals.”
Hands said the company’s approach is intended to provide practical support rather than simply offering benefits with limited everyday value.
“Our aim is to provide benefits that genuinely make a difference to the everyday lives of our employees and their families – whether that’s having additional time off, getting support with their health and finances, developing new skills or simply feeling recognised for the contribution they make to LTS.”
For logistics operators, retaining experienced employees can help reduce recruitment costs, maintain operational continuity and preserve knowledge within the business.
LTS hopes its expanding package will encourage employees to build longer careers with the company while making it a more attractive employer for prospective recruits.
