Bath International Transport has added to its fleet with a new Volvo FH 500 4×2 tractor unit.

The truck features as Globetrotter XL cab and will go into service ahead of a busy summer.

Bath International supplies transport solutions for many well-known shows and artists.

Specifically, it delivers lighting and staging equipment across the UK and Europe.

Therefore, the new FH is set to feature many music tours, television shoots and live events over the coming months.

Interestingly, the FH is the first Volvo that Bath International has run for more than 10 years.

As a result, Adam Barnard, area sales manager at vehicle supplier Truck and Bus Wales and West, had a big job.

However, Gary Bath, owner, Bath International Transport, was delighted with his new recruit.

“We have had Volvos in the past but not for a long time now.

“However, we fancied a change and obviously we knew Volvo is a quality product.

“The improvements to the driver environment and fuel efficiency sounded impressive.

“In addition, we’ve been really pleased with what it’s delivered so far.”

The new member of the fleet offers fuel-saving features and a driver-focused cab.

For example, there’s a new fully digital 12in instrument display.

Furthermore, the truck is covered by a Volvo Gold Contract.

Power-wise, the FH runs with a D13K Euro 6 engine.

In other words, drivers will have up to 500hp and a maximum torque output of 2,500Nm.

In addition, it is fitted with a 12-speed I-Shift gearbox.

The new Bath International truck is expected to clock up around 100,000km a year.

Therefore, it is equipped with Volvo’s Long Haul Fuel package.

Importantly, the truck’s driver is happy, says Bath.

“He’s just come out of a different make of truck, and he’s been very impressed with the Globetrotter XL cab.”
