Basildon-based exact mix concrete specialist White Hare Aggregates Ltd has taken delivery of four Renault Trucks Range K460 8×4 rigids – each equipped with Renault blue LED high-bar spots – which mark the first Euro 6 trucks to join the firm’s fleet.
Supplied by distributor Renault Trucks Essex, the Range Ks are mounted with
Bay Lynx Newman 12 volumetric mixers with bodywork undertaken by White Hare Aggregates’ own in-house bodyshop.
The Range Ks replace older vehicles on the company’s 12-strong fleet, with the Renault truck’s strength, ground clearance and design weight all claimed as key factors in the company’s vehicle selection.
The Range Ks went on the road in April and work mainly across south Essex and London, delivering concrete batching services to site for construction firms, utilities and local authorities.
“The Renault Range K offers excellent strength and ground clearance, which are essential for working on site, together with its uprated springs and suspension,” said White Hare’s managing director, Lee Whitehair. “Its design weight means we can carry an extra cubic tonne, increasing our capacity from 9 m3 up to 10 m3 – and it all adds up, especially with business going from strength to strength.”
The firm said the K’s high-capacity cement tank provides the flexibility to deliver larger volumes or to undertake multiple drops to smaller sites.
