The DAF Trucks Virtual Truck Show is returning and will go live over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

The news comes as traditional in-person shows continue to be hampered by pandemic restrictions.

Following a successful launch last year DAF has taken the decision to repeat the event.

Drivers and owners of DAFs are being encouraged to show off their vehicles on social media.

Prizes are available and will be awarded in three different categories.

Firstly, the Best Show DAF Truck, which was won last year by P&L Forman.

There is also a prize for Best Working DAF Truck, awarded to Hurst Bros. last year.

Finally there is also an award for Best Classic DAF or Leyland Truck. Brian Callery’s DAF 3300 Ati triumphed in this category last year.

The three winners from the Virtual Truck Show awards will be invited to show their vehicles at Truckfest.

Specifically, they will have pride of place on the DAF Trucks stand at the Peterborough event.

As well as sharing images online, entrants can also email Marketing@DAFTrucks.com

The Show is already open and pictures can be shared from now until Tuesday 4th May 2021.

In 2020, DAF stepped in when traditional events fell victim to the pandemic.

Furthermore, it was able to satisfy truck drivers’ desire to show their trucks by doing a virtual truck show.

As a result, there was a response of more than 700 entrants from the DAF operating community.

“We had a fantastic response to last year’s Virtual Truck Show,” said DAF Trucks marketing manager, Phil Moon.

“We know drivers enjoy showing-off their vehicles, and we love to see the care, attention and creativity that they lavish upon their trucks.

Again, like last year, there are no hard-and-fast competition rules; we just want to bring the DAF driving community together.”
