Twelve new trucks have arrived on the Mitchell Potatoes fleet, thanks to Fraikin.
The company has secured a 60% share of Mitchell Potatoes’ commercial vehicle fleet with the deal.
Furthermore, the new trucks are on a six-year, full-service contract hire agreement.
The truck deal comprises a range of models for Mitchell Potatoes.
For example, the batch includes a a 44-tonne Renault tractor unit.
In addition, there are 10 18-tonne DAF LF rigids and a similar 26-tonne DAF.
Specifically, they are like-for-like replacements for older models previously supplied by Fraikin and a competitor.
As a result, Fraikin now supplies 15 of the company’s 25-strong mixed commercial vehicle fleet.
There were a number of factors in Mitchel Potatoes going to Fraikin for its vehicles.
Firstly, “outstanding industry expertise” was cited as the main reason.
Secondly, the operator was a big fan of Fraikin’s maintenance support capabilities.
For example, all R&M work managed through Fraikin’s national workshop network.

“We deliver perishable goods to customers across the country.
“Therefore, it’s important to have access to fleet support nationwide.
“Fraikin’s service network provides excellent cover on all our delivery routes.|
As part of the latest agreement, Mitchell Potatoes will benefit from Fraikin’s dedicated telematics equipment.
The system ensures that all data surrounding fleet movements, tachograph information and driver behaviour is available through a single point.
In other words, it provides easy access for data analysis to help improve fleet efficiency.
Furthermore, the company will also continue to use Fraikin’s powerful maintenance tool, FraikinView.
As a result, it will be able to monitor – and ultimately maximise – fleet uptime.
The system’s easy-to-use online web portal provides a complete overview of all scheduled maintenance work, with the ability to track and monitor its progress.
