A ‘revolutionary’ new safety system to help HGV drivers cover their loads without having to work at height is being piloted with the use of trailers supplied by ATE Truck and Trailer Sales Ltd.
The new system, which can be fitted to either curtain-siders or flatbeds, has been developed by Freight Secure Systems based at Basildon, Essex.
FSS displayed its FS100 and FS200 designs at a product launch held at Mercedes-Benz UK headquarters in Sheffield at the end of July. The event was attended by representatives from VOSA, the Health and Safety Executive, the Road Haulage Association, the police and Manchester College.
VOSA has been cracking down on trucks carrying insecure loads. FSS is designed to offer a simple solution to the problem of making sure loads are held safely.
