JJX Logistics has added an Iveco rigid to its ranks to help the company ‘boost its operational capabilities in urban areas’.

The operator has selected an S-Way 6×2 rigid, which can carry up to 15 tonnes.

As a result, the new fleet addition adds another cargo type for making deliveries in towns and cities.

JJX Logistics is licensed to carry all nine classes of hazardous materials and is TAPA certified for high-value assets.

Therefore, when the company needed a reliable and flexible haulage solution, Iveco ticked all the boxes.

The new Iveco rigid joins a 510hp S-way tractor unit on the fleet.

In fact, managing director John Joseph Donovan was so impressed with that truck, he’s ordered a 570hp model for long-haul routes.

Specifically, that vehicle will shift cargo from the UK to Italy as part of a new international contract.

However, the new Iveco rigid will be staying closer to home.

It is equipped with a rear lift axle, which reduces tyre wear on return trips and improves manoeuvrability.

In addition, rear air suspension has been specified to improve ride and handling.

Futhermore, this setup gives the driver extra peace of mind when carrying sensitive cargoes.

Finally, a Driver Comfort Plus package has been specified, which adds door roller blinds and automatic air conditioning.

The new S-Way rigid is powered by a 460hp Cursor 11 diesel engine that, says Iveco, offers performance and economy.

An optional Aero Plus pack incorporates a roof spoiler as well as front cab corner fins.

JJX’s Iveco rigid is expected to cover 80,000 to 100,000 miles each year.

Therefore, it represents a key asset for JJX Logistics.

Concluding, Donovan said: “We eagerly awaited the truck to come down the supply chain.

“Now it’s here we are over the moon with it!”
