Infinity Container Logistics has marked its 10th anniversary with an investment in 24 new Krone Box Liner FS10 skeletal trailers, expanding its container haulage capacity and continuing a supplier relationship that began when the company was established in 2016.

The Felixstowe-based operator has taken delivery of the new trailers as part of its ongoing fleet investment programme, adding equipment capable of handling a wide range of shipping container sizes and configurations.

All 24 trailers were delivered earlier this year and are now operating across the company’s UK transport network.

The investment comes as Infinity celebrates a decade of growth in the container transport sector, during which it has developed into a nationwide logistics business operating more than 250 vehicles.

Supporting a nationwide container haulage operation

Infinity Container Logistics provides container haulage, freight forwarding, storage and warehousing services to customers throughout the UK.

Operating from its Felixstowe base, the company serves all major UK ports, with principal operating locations including Southampton, Peterborough, London Gateway and Lutterworth.

The company’s activities cover container movements between ports, distribution centres, warehouses and customer premises, making fleet flexibility an important consideration when specifying new equipment.

Rather than operating separate trailer types for every container size, Infinity has selected the Krone Box Liner FS10 to accommodate different transport requirements using a common chassis design.

This approach allows the company to respond to changes in customer demand while making more effective use of its trailer fleet.

Krone Box Liner FS10 offers multiple container configurations

The Krone Box Liner FS10 is designed to provide flexibility for container transport operators handling different container lengths.

Its sliding bogie arrangement and container locking positions allow the chassis to accommodate 20ft, 30ft, 40ft and 45ft containers.

The trailer can also carry two 20ft containers simultaneously, providing additional flexibility for operators working with different shipping and distribution requirements.

For Infinity, this versatility means the same trailer type can be deployed across a wider range of jobs without requiring dedicated chassis for individual container configurations.

Aaron Pilcher, Director at Infinity Container Logistics, explains:

“When investing in new trailers, we look for equipment that gives us the flexibility to respond to different customer requirements without having to rely on a number of different chassis types.

“As we celebrate 10 years in business, Krone continues to be an important supplier to our operation. The FS10 is well suited to our approach. Its sliding chassis design allows us to accommodate different container configurations, while the overall construction and finish give us confidence in the equipment’s durability.”

Built for demanding container transport operations

Alongside its operational flexibility, the Krone Box Liner FS10 incorporates a welded steel chassis designed for demanding commercial transport applications.

The specification includes low-maintenance axles, air suspension and electronic braking equipment.

These features are intended to support reliability and durability in operations where trailers are regularly loaded, unloaded and moved between ports, logistics facilities and distribution centres.

Corrosion protection is another consideration for container transport equipment, particularly for trailers operating in coastal and port environments.

Krone uses a chassis protection process combining cathodic dip coating with protective powder coating. This provides a protective finish designed to reduce corrosion and support long-term service life.

For operators retaining trailers over extended periods, chassis durability and maintenance requirements can have a significant influence on whole-life operating costs.

A supplier relationship spanning 10 years

Infinity’s latest investment also continues its relationship with Krone, which dates back to the company’s establishment in 2016.

The operator says the manufacturer’s support during specification and ordering has been an important part of the purchasing process.

“Krone has been helpful throughout the specification and ordering process, and the trailers have integrated well into our operation. We’ve been pleased with the equipment and the support we’ve received,” adds Pilcher.

With the complete order now in service, Infinity has increased its container carrying capacity while retaining the operational advantages of a versatile skeletal trailer design.

The investment also reflects the continuing importance of conventional container chassis within the UK’s freight transport network, where operators need equipment capable of accommodating different container sizes without adding unnecessary complexity to fleet management.

Krone Trailer UK support

The Box Liner FS10 forms part of Krone Trailer UK’s range of container chassis, supported by the manufacturer’s UK sales, parts and aftersales network.

Based in Leeds, Krone Trailer UK is part of the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group and supplies semi-trailers, replacement parts and service support throughout the UK and Ireland.

For Infinity Container Logistics, the latest delivery represents another step in its fleet development as the business enters its second decade of operation.

The 24 new skeletal trailers provide additional capacity and configuration flexibility as the company continues serving customers across the UK’s ports and inland logistics network.
