Think Hire has added its first truck to the company’s fleet – a Volvo FH 460 8×2 rear-steer rigid.
The FH will deliver solar generators, renewable power and site establishment products.
It features a number of bespoke items to aid operations at Think Hire.
For example, there’s a Fassi 710 crane and flatbed body, supplied by The Crane Centre, in Sandbach.
In addition, the FH is equipped with VBG drawbar coupling for pulling a trailer when required.
Power comes from Volvo’s D13K engine, which has 460hp and 2,300Nm of torque.
Meanwhile, the Volvo Engine Brake Plus (VEB+) improves stopping performance and reduces wheel brake wear.
Other spec highlights include an I-Shift automated gearbox, sleeper cab and Volvo’s Media package with navigation.
Ian Potiatynyk, head of contract delivery at Think Hire, explained the decision.
“We are a relatively new company but have expanded quickly and as the interest in our products has grown.
“Therefore, we felt it was the right time to investment in our first truck to help control the whole delivery process.
Continuing, Potiatynyk explained his previous experience of Volvo trucks was helpful in the procurement process.
“I know they are the right tool to help us do the job exactly how we want it to be done.
“We need a truck we can rely on, and that can handle the loads we are transporting – the FH delivers on every front.”
The first truck for Think Hire has improved safety technology with additional cameras and FORS-compliant equipment.
Also, a passenger lower door window has been included to improve visibility.
Concluding, Potiatynyk said: “We want the truck to be comfortable for the driver and robust enough to carry heavy equipment.”
“Our solar generators can be around four and a half tonnes each, but the FH can handle that with ease.”
