The GIF Transport and Logistics fleet has received its first trucks from Renault Trucks in the shape of two Range T Highs.

The new additions join the 14-strong fleet at the Aberdeenshire-based business.

GIF Transport and Logistics had specific reasons for choosing a vehicle from the French manufacturer.

For example, it was taken by design improvements as well as the comprehensive dealer back-up service.

As a result, the duo joined at a time of increased business demand for GIF Transport and Logistics.

Supplied by Renault Trucks Scotland, the new T520 Highs come with a number of creature comforts for drivers.

Therefore, inside the cab there’s a luxury driver’s seat and leather steering wheel.

Furthermore, there’s auto lighting and windscreen wiping and a large multimedia screen.

Elsewhere, the external appearance of the trucks is enhanced with light bars and fixed roof air deflector.

GIF Transport and Logistics’ director, Brian Pirie, explains why he invested in his first trucks from Renault.

“The bulk of our fleet is with a competitor manufacturer, but I know the salesman at Renault Trucks Scotland,” he said.

“He’s been knocking on my door for a few years trying to persuade me to try the Renault Trucks.

“Due to increased demand for our services, we are getting busier.”

Continuing, Pirie said he wanted a benchmark to compare against the rest of the fleet.

“Therefore, I decided to take on a demo vehicle and the T520 High slotted seamlessly into our operation.

“And, following this successful trial, we placed the order with Renault Trucks Scotland.”

Concluding, Pirie said that introducing a new vehicle manufacturer into the fleet is always a risk.

“However, although it’s still early days, we are very impressed,” he confirmed.

“The driver is very happy and the fuel consumption is good so far.”
