DAF Trucks will showcase its latest special edition flagship at this year’s Road Transport Expo, with the new DAF Emerald Edition set to make one of its first major public appearances at Stoneleigh Park.

The limited-production model will take centre stage on DAF’s indoor stand during RTX 2026, which runs from 30 June to 2 July. The truck forms part of the manufacturer’s Gemstone Collection and follows the Sapphire Edition launched last year. Just 100 examples of the DAF Emerald Edition will be built as DAF begins the countdown to its 100th anniversary celebrations in 2028.

Finished in a distinctive Forest Dawn green paint scheme, the truck combines piano black exterior detailing with Alcoa Dura-Bright aluminium wheels, front and rear air suspension and twin fuel tanks. Inside the cab, DAF has carried the theme throughout, with bespoke curtains, mattress topper, floor mats and upper bunk trim all designed to match the vehicle’s appearance. Each truck also carries an individual production number highlighting its exclusivity.

The special edition model will be displayed inside the exhibition hall on stand G36, where DAF expects strong interest from operators looking for something a little different from a standard fleet specification vehicle.

Electric truck technology on show

Alongside the DAF Emerald Edition, visitors will also be able to inspect a DAF XD 350 Electric FT 4×2 tractor unit operated by Lancashire-based haulage company Fagan & Whalley. The vehicle is one of two XD Electric models currently working within the company’s fleet and demonstrates how battery-electric trucks are increasingly moving into day-to-day transport operations.

The truck is powered by a 350kW PACCAR EX-D2 electric motor paired with a 525kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. DAF says the vehicle has been selected for display to demonstrate the practical capabilities of electric heavy goods vehicles and to support discussions around fleet decarbonisation.

The XD Electric and XF Electric were jointly named International Truck of the Year 2026, providing further recognition of DAF’s growing electric vehicle portfolio.

TRP expands RTX presence

Away from the main DAF stand, TRP will have its largest-ever presence at the exhibition. Located on stand B1 near the main entrance to the outdoor showground, the all-makes parts brand will showcase more than just its extensive commercial vehicle parts offering.

Several DAF vehicles will be displayed on the stand, including an XFC FAD 8×4 tipper, an XG FAS 6×2 recovery vehicle, an XD Electric tractor unit and an XB Electric recycling truck. Visitors will also be able to learn more about TRP’s online ordering systems and the company’s Single Point Invoicing service.

TRP representatives will be running the company’s current “Driven to Deliver” promotion throughout the show, while visitors can also enter a competition to win a limited-edition board game linked to the campaign.

Opportunity to drive electric DAF trucks

For operators considering a move towards battery-electric vehicles, RTX visitors will also have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of DAF’s electric truck range.

The manufacturer will make both an XF Electric articulated combination and an XB Electric rigid available as part of the show’s Ride & Drive programme. The sessions are designed to give operators, drivers and fleet managers hands-on experience of electric truck performance, refinement and drivability.

RTX 2026 comes at an important time for DAF as the manufacturer continues to strengthen its position in both the conventional and electric truck sectors. The company remains the UK’s market leader in trucks above 6.0 tonnes GVW and continues to invest heavily in electric vehicle support infrastructure across its dealer network.

With the eye-catching DAF Emerald Edition attracting attention indoors and a broad range of electric and specialist vehicles on display across the site, DAF’s presence at RTX 2026 looks set to offer something for operators regardless of their fleet requirements.
