The acquisition of KTS – the family-run truck business in Faversham, Kent, has been completed by Renault Truck Commercials.

This news coincides with the retirement of KTS’ managing director, Sandy Young.

Young started the business more than 30 years ago, providing support to those travelling to Dover and through Kent.

Therefore, the new site will be known as Renault Truck Commercials Kent.

Renault Truck Commercials has recently opened service points in various locations all over the UK.

For example, there are now facilities in Cornwall, Gloucester and Hertfordshire, alongside the existing sites.

Con Rooney, Managing Director, Renault Truck Commercials says the move is part of the company’s expansion programme.

“The acquisition is a further significant step in our dynamic growth strategy,” he said.

In addition, he added that the purchase “ensures that we continue to meet the increasing demand for Renault Trucks products and services”.

With the acquisition of KTS, Renault Truck Commericals has inherited a two-acre site containing a purpose-built facility.

There are 22 employees on site and it is fully equipped.

For example, there is a ten-bay drive-through workshop, VOSA tacho lane, and diagnostic/repairs equipment.

Also, it provides Renault Trucks’ 24/7 roadside assistance.

“The depot is in close proximity to the M2 roadway corridor leading to the Port of Dover,” said Rooney.

“It is a location that is important to the Renault Trucks South Eastern region strategy.

Meanwhile Rooney said that he had been impressed by the support by KTS.

Renault Truck Commercials will build on the excellent work done over many years by the KTS Team.”

Following the acquisition of KTS, Young wished the new business every success in the future.

Concluding, he said: “Our mutual focus on putting the customer first was at the heart of my decision.”
