FORS has committed to supporting this year’s Road Safety Week through a range of fundraising and awareness-building activities.
The event, which begins today, has been organised by road safety charity, Brake.
Thousands of schools, organisations and communities from across the country will support the initiative in different ways.
For example, sharing important road safety messages and remembering those affected by road death and injury.
In addition, the week – which runs until 20th November – will raise valuable funds for Brake.
For 2022’s edition, FORS has been working on a suite of activities to help promote road safety.
For example, there will be a series of LinkedIn blogs published, aimed at fleet operators and drivers.
Furthermore, FORS has prepared a Road Safety Week Toolkit containing ideas and inspiration for operators.
Drivers seeking to brush up on their safety training can also benefit from FORS’ Road Safety Week training promotion.
In other words, 25 free places have been made available to non-FORS accredited operators on its courses.
The qualifying courses are Van Smart and also the Safe Urban Driving training course.
Operators simply need to enter code FORS22 into the FORS ID field of the application form to enjoy the offer.
Meanwhile, FORS is encouraging its staff to volunteer, fundraise and promote the cause.
For instance, Aimee Mitchell, FORS head of business operations, will be representing Brake at her local Roadchef service station on 17th November.
FORS concession director, Ian Henderson, said getting behind the initiative was very important.
“Safety is one of the core tenets of the FORS Standard,” he acknowledged.
“Therefore, naturally it’s something that we and all FORS accredited operators take extremely seriously.”
Continuing, Henderson stated: “The work that Brake does to strive for safer roads is fully aligned with FORS’ mission to drive standards of safety within fleet operations.”
