Renault Trucks has introduced its new urban truck, the D Wide Z.E. Low Entry Cab in Europe.
The all-electric vehicle has a cab that helps improve waste collection operations.
In addition, the design also better protects operators and vulnerable road users.
Renault boasts battery powered trucks ranging from 3.5 to 26 tonnes.
Therefore, it claims to have the most comprehensive range of electric trucks on the market.
Furthermore, the French OEM is now further expanding that range with the D Wide Z.E. LEC.
The new urban truck is equipped to allow operators to access the vehicle effortlessly and safely.
Specifically, the cab entry is 200mm lower than in a standard distribution truck.
Also, it features a single non-slip step and doors that open at 90°.
As a result, crew fatigue from getting in and out of the cab is reduced.
Meanwhile, The low position of the cab provides excellent direct vision for drivers.
Therefore, the level of protection for vulnerable road users is maximised in the design of the new urban truck.
For increased visibility, optional side windows positioned at the rear of the cab, are recommended by Renault.
The spacious cab of the all-electric truck can accommodate the driver and up to three additional crew members.
Its optional flat floor allows for freedom of movement inside the vehicle.
In addition, it allows for boarding and alighting on both the left and right sides.
The new urban truck has been developed with bodybuilder Estepe.
It adopts a 6×2 configuration with a steered rear axle and is available to order throughout Europe.
Finally, as it is all-electric and emits zero exhaust fumes, it is approved for use in urban areas with traffic restrictions.
