Promising improvements in aerodynamics, fuel efficiency and connectivity the Iveco S-Way has arrived in the UK. The truck range is available to order now and is the first developed under the ‘Way’ branding that promises customers and drivers an integrated transport solution.
Iveco says the cab has been redesigned with the needs of both driver operator in mind and offers a host of technologies that help improve day-to-day haulage operations. For example, there is a 7in touchscreen infotainment system that boasts radio, Bluetooth telephone and audio connectivity, truck-specific navigation and driving style evaluation.
There are a wide range of cab options available, from the AD short, low-roof cab, to the AT sleeper cab with low- or medium-roof to the AS sleeper cab, which offers a width of 2.5m. The AS also has 2.15m standing room, four external lockers offering 376 litres of storage and offers a variety of fridge/freezer combos.
Customers have numerous options of what powers their new S-Way from the 8.7-litre Cursor 9 – with outputs of 300, 360 or 400hp and up to 1,700Nm of torque – to the range-topping 12.9-litre Cursor 13, which boasts horsepowers between 510hp and 570hp and maximum torque of 2,500Nm.
For fans of alternatives fuels there are natural gas powered options: Iveco is the only manufacturer to offer a 100% natural gas vehicle in 6×2 form and the S-Way Natural Power is the only LNG vehicle that offers a driving range of up to 1,600km.
Extra peace of mind for operators trying to maximise total cost of ownership comes by way of design features such as a multi-piece bumper that cuts repair costs. In addition, the S-Way now comes with the option of Iveco On – a subscription service that can help with fuel economy, fleet management and maintenance scheduling.
