In this issue
I tend to work one or two magazines ahead of myself regarding editorial in the magazine, there’s always news, products or events to work on or look forward to, but no one could have predicted the news the industry received this month.
If you haven’t heard the news, permission has been granted for recovery vehicles to begin using red lights. Despite campaigns and hundreds of hours of tireless work from the recovery community to grant this important safety feature, no one could have seen this coming. Well done to all those involved.
Of course, with power comes responsibility, and as Andy Lambert said on the BBC Breakfast red couch – abuse it and you will lose it. Regulations have to be imposed and a close eye needs to be kept on their use to make sure they are used in the correct way. But that’s for another day, for now let’s just celebrate a big win for the industry, they don’t come along very often.
