Today is World EV Day and Renault Trucks is the ‘Electric Commercial Vehicle Sector Lead’ for the day.
World EV Day is a celebration of electric mobility, driving change to shift the transition to sustainable transport.
As a result, the focus will centre on consumer, business and policy outcomes.
Renault Trucks’ Alex Williams outlined the role being played by the commercial vehicle manufacturer.
“Renault Trucks is proud to be Electric Commercial Vehicle Sector Lead for World EV Day 2022,” he said.
“As a pioneer of electric mobility and champion of sustainable transport, our ambitious plan to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions is already in action.”
Continuing, Williams said the day provided an opportunity to share the company’s sustainability message.
In addition, it provides the chance to connect with customers “and support them on their transition to a decarbonised transport future.
“There is no doubt that the pace is starting to increase, for instance Renault Trucks EVs are already in service in many countries.”
For example, in the UK there are many operators running EVs on their fleets.
These companies include: Warburtons, Tesco and Suez.
Concluding, Williams said: “Renault Trucks’ electric vehicles are the new normal for cleaner, quieter transport and logistics.”
Meanwhile, Ade Thomas, World EV Day founder welcomed the role played by Renault Trucks.
“World EV Day 2022 is celebrating the companies and individuals pledging to go EV.
“We will celebrate progress and highlighting where we can deliver changes and drive the switch to electric.
“We are delighted to announce Renault Trucks as World EV Day 2022 Electric Commercial Vehicle Sector Lead.”
Specifically, Renault Trucks will focus on its fully electric current E-Tech range from 3.1 to 26 tonnes GVW.
From 2023, an all-electric Renault Trucks E-Tech offer will be available for each segment, namely distribution, construction and long distance.
