Eddie Stobart: Trucking Songs – a compilation of classic rock and driving tunes – rocketed to the top of the official compilation chart on Father’s Day after dads across the UK were treated to its 58 timeless tracks.
After entering the charts at number two, it sold over 43,000 copies in the week running up to Father’s Day to knock Now That’s What I Call 30 Years off the top spot.
The album motored ahead of the pack after Eddie Stobart fans across the country helped the firm deliver its first-ever number one. Boasting a plethora of hits from major artists like Queen, Meat Loaf, Kiss, ZZ Top and Bob Dylan, Stobart said its Trucking Songs CD makes for good listening for long motorway journeys.
Laura Tinkler, Stobart Group retail manager, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and really showcases the strength and diversity of the Eddie Stobart brand. To achieve an official number one, especially on Father’s Day, really is a pleasant surprise.”
