Improved efficiencies and low total cost of ownership have led T Christie & Sons to invest in another MAN TGX.
The Buckinghamshire-based operator opted for a Individual Lion S 26.510 model.
As a result, T Christie & Sons now has three new-generation MAN TGX tractors.
Father Tony stated that they had been “invaluable additions to the fleet”.
“As a family business it’s vital that we view the marketplace and ensure that we operate vehicles that guarantee efficiency,” he added.
“Because of this, we keep coming back to MAN.
“Fuel consumption-wise, the MANs are streets ahead of other vehicles we’ve operated.”
Continuing, he said that with fuel being the biggest fixed cost, it was an easy decision.
Meanwhile, Christie also highlighted the service received from the MAN community.
Specifially, he singled out the local dealer, Ring Road Garage, Buckingham for praise.
“In short, [Ring Road is] excellent,” he said.
“Nothing is too much trouble, they are just a call away and are always eager to assist.”
T Christie & Son’s new TGX Lion S will cover around 77,000 miles a year.
As a result, it is – like its predecessors – on a two-year MAN Truck & Bus Relax R&M package.
It will be maintained, routinely serviced and inspected by Ring Road Garage.
The new TGX is powered by MAN’s Euro6E compliant, six-cylinder D26 510hp 12.4-litre engine.
Importantly, this engine range has proven to be gentle on service costs as well as frugal on fuel.
Meanwhile, the new TGX features a spacious GX cab and a number of exterior highlight.
For example, it boasts chrome trims and highlights and black wheels with matching color-coded wheel trims.
In total, T Christie & Sons operates a fleet of 16 vehicles.
MAN-wise, they include two 7.5-tonne TGLs and nine previous generation MAN TGX tractors.
