Leicestershire Haulier, Pall-Ex Group has been shortlisted in three categories for this year’s Motor Transport Awards. The categories include Livery of the Year, Safety in Operation Award and Team of the Year.
Following recognition of the rare honour of an Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award from the Ministry of Defence for its support of the Armed Forces community, Pall-Ex unveiled a special edition livery to mark the occasion. The striking camo-inspired livery was revealed at least year’s Reserves Forces and Cadet Association event ahead of Remembrance Sunday and has since been showcased across the UK, appearing at a multitude of Armed Forces events and most recently being shortlisted for Livery of the Year.
Pall-Ex Group is particularly honoured to be in the shortlist for the Safety in Operation Award. The award highlights companies who go above and beyond to keep their staff, customers and the public safe, a commitment Pall-Ex Group has made to drive a safety-first culture, reduce workplace risks and achieve safety excellence.
Alongside demonstrating strong commitments to achieving safety excellence, the company holds the ISO45001:2018 accreditation in Occupational Health and Safety Management, a standard designed to prevent work-related injury and ill-health, and to provide safe and healthy workplaces.
Pall-Ex UK’s member/management buyout in 2019 was the start of a new era for the company. Since then, the management team has been rebuilt with a renewed focus on delivering excellence across the organisation.
Despite the challenges of Brexit, the pandemic, driver shortages and the economic downturn, the culture of excellence has permeated throughout the business, resetting ambitions, standards and consistency across the network. Pall-Ex was not content with waiting for circumstances to change, but instead was prepared to set a new standard of excellence to ensure it outperformed the sector.
The network management team, comprising departments across the business, achieved improvements in service performance across the network, particularly in historically challenging areas such as London and Scotland. It was this combined effort that resulted in the business being shortlisted for the Motor Transport Team of the Year award.
The company is extremely proud to be shortlisted for what are one of the leading industry awards. The prestigious awards have run for over 35 years and set the benchmark of excellence among UK road transport fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers and innovators.
Pall-Ex Group CEO, Kevin Buchanan, says “We are extremely excited to have been shortlisted in three categories for the 2023 Motor Transport Awards. The team has worked extremely hard throughout what has been an economically turbulent year, so to be shortlisted and recognised at such a respected awards ceremony is fantastic.”
