A total of 26 new generation DAF XF tractor units have been supplied to Warburtons through Asset Alliance Group.
Britain’s largest baker has made the investment in its fleet, thereby strengthening its ties with the commercial vehicle specialist.
The 26 DAF XF tractor units are all 480s and are direct replacements for outgoing models from the fleet.
In addition, they have all been supplied on three-year full-service contract hire agreements.
The new assets will join a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles at Warburtons.
As a result, they will be spread throughout the network at different sites belonging to the bread brand.
For example the DAF XF tractor units will operate out of Bellshill, Wakefield, Nottingham, Bolton and Enfield.
Furthermore, they will be responsible for delivering products from all of Warburtons’ 11 bakeries and 16 depots across the UK.
Jonathan Heaton, Warburtons fleet engineer, stressed the importance of getting the right trucks for the job.
“Delivering products direct to stores across the UK, fresh every morning, is incredibly important for us.
“Meanwhile, having the right vehicles to do the job is essential.
“The new DAF units from Asset Alliance Group are highly specified and have a multiple of new technologies.”
Covered under a DAF repair and maintenance contract, the new tractor units feature a range of safety technologies.
For example, they come with DAF’s Digital Vision System, which includes camera mirrors and recording cameras.
Also, the latest tracking technology to provide intelligence on vehicle and driver performance is also installed.
A rental customer since 2018, initially provided 10 tractor units to Warburtons, increasing to 26 units and six trailers over the years.
This latest deal has been managed at Asset Alliance Group Paul Wright and Kerry Anne Grogan.
“Our relationship with Asset Alliance Group goes from strength to strength,” revealed Heaton.
