Immingham-based McCann Logistics has taken delivery of 12 Renault Trucks T High 480 6×2 TML Turbo Compound tractor units as part of a fleet renewal programme.
The order marks McCann’s first move to the Renault Trucks T High platform. Two units will carry ANDYSMANCLUB’s “It’s okay to talk” message, extending the operator’s partnership with the men’s mental health charity.
The Renault Trucks T High was selected following a competitive tender. McCann cited a responsive approach from Renault Trucks and dealer Thompson Commercials, along with whole-life cost projections and driver specification.
“From day one, Thompson Commercials listened,” said Mark Brighton, General Manager at McCann Logistics. “Both Renault Trucks and Thompsons worked with us, offered sensible numbers, and delivered everything we asked for – from driver comfort features to a maintenance programme we could trust. We’ve not been able to fault the process.”

Turbo Compound power and five-year support
Each Renault Trucks T High is powered by the DE13 Turbo Compound 480hp engine. The system recovers exhaust energy via an additional turbine, converting it into torque at low engine speeds.
The result is improved fuel efficiency and fewer gear changes on gradients.
Further support comes from Optivision map-based gear shifting and Smart Torque Control. The trucks are supplied on a five-year contract via Renault Trucks Financial Services and include Optifleet telematics.
Specified as 480 6×2 TML tractor units, the Renault Trucks T High models feature:
- Rear interior cab lockers
- Microwaves and inverters
- Finished in RAL 3000
Drivers trialled a demonstrator before final sign-off. Feedback on fuel returns, manoeuvrability and cab space influenced the decision to adopt the high-cab layout.
Operating exclusively in the UK, each Renault Trucks T High is expected to cover around 1,400 miles per week. Routes span from Aberdeen to Taunton, serving construction sites, farms, industrial facilities and distribution hubs.
Founded over 40 years ago, McCann Logistics operates more than 180 trailers and a 12-vehicle UK truck fleet. Around 35% of its workload supports group companies within Brickability Group, with remaining volumes covering steel, waste, chemicals and general freight.

Raising awareness with ANDYSMANCLUB
Two Renault Trucks T High units will carry ANDYSMANCLUB branding. McCann already runs two fully liveried trailers for the charity.
One of the new trucks will include a tribute to Sean Dawson, the son of a McCann driver who recently died by suicide.
“It’s a small gesture, but it means a great deal to our driver and his family,” said Brighton. “Supporting AMC is incredibly important to us, especially given the male-dominated sectors we deliver into. If even one man decides to attend a Monday night support group because they saw one of our vehicles, then it’s worth everything.”
Sean Gill, Regional Lead – East of England at ANDYSMANCLUB, added: “Seeing our branding carried on their trucks and trailers isn’t just advertising, it’s awareness in motion.”
The Renault Trucks T High units will be maintained by Thompson Commercials Grimsby.
Keith Ottley, Sales Projects Manager at Thompson Commercials, said: “The T High is ideally suited to their long-distance UK operations, and we are especially proud to help support the vital work of ANDYSMANCLUB through this fleet.”
