Marthall Tree Products, a leading timber supplier in the North West, has strengthened its fleet with two new MAN TGS trucks to support its operations across the region. Based in Knutsford, Marthall Tree Products has built a reputation since 1990 for its high-quality, durable timber products, meeting the needs of various clients, including local councils, utility companies, the National Trust, and landscape contractors. Known for their craftsmanship and extensive inventory, Marthall provides materials such as treated timber, gates, fencing, decking, and even custom wooden gates.

The company’s two new 26-tonne MAN TGS 26.330 6×2 trucks are designed specifically for heavy-duty timber transport. Each vehicle is powered by a MAN D15 9.0-litre engine, generating 330 horsepower, and adheres to the stringent Euro 6e emissions standards, offering both power and compliance. These trucks are fitted with custom 7.5-metre alloy flatbeds and advanced Fassi cranes capable of 360-degree rotation, which will help Marthall’s team handle challenging deliveries efficiently.

Tom Turner, Operations Manager at Marthall Tree Products, noted the decision-making process behind the fleet expansion: “As a family business, it’s vital that we invest in machinery we can rely on and trust. MAN provided balanced, insightful information and was attentive throughout the order and delivery process. Their support, from technical advice to delivery, showed they understood our business needs and shared our commitment to quality and reliability.”

The investment aligns with Marthall’s growth trajectory from a small start-up, founded by Dave Godsmark in 1990, to a major timber supplier operating from a 2.65-acre facility in Knutsford. The addition of the MAN trucks not only improves operational efficiency but also reflects the company’s emphasis on offering employees a comfortable, safe working environment. Each cab includes advanced safety and navigation systems, such as 360-degree cameras, electronic braking, and lane departure alerts, helping drivers navigate safely in tight delivery zones.

In its choice of MAN, Marthall Tree Products also gains access to MAN’s expansive UK service network and Mobile24 roadside assistance, ensuring that any unexpected downtime is minimized. With this investment, Marthall is set to enhance its customer service while meeting the high demands of its growing customer base. The new MAN TGS trucks, outfitted in a distinct Daytona Grey livery, are already receiving positive feedback from both staff and clients.
