German truck-maker MAN has revealed a new ‘100 Years Edition’ of its flagship TGX D38. The special-edition truck will be available with 520 or 560 bhp engines and special equipment includes highly-polished stainless steel front and side bars with integrated LED accent lighting, oversize light bar with four halogen high-beam headlights, and stainless steel cab steps. On the exterior, the D38 features two flaming lions on both sides of the cab – and the lion motif continues on the seat coverings inside.
The truck was premiered at MAN’s Trucknology Days in Munich, which took place on March 19-21. The manufacturer said it has produced new paint colours for the model: MAN stone grey metallic, MAN D38 red, MAN steel blue metallic and MAN crystal white metallic. Dura-Bright EVO aluminium wheels are also fitted.
“The ‘100 Years Edition’ offers the unique performance and efficiency of the TGX D38 with the added features of a real eye-catcher – and all ex-works,” said Heinz-Jürgen Löw, director of sales & marketing, MAN. “I am already looking forward to seeing these trucks on the street.”
In-cab comfort is taken care of with airsprung comfort seats for the driver and co-driver with lumbar vertebra support, shoulder adjustment and heating. Sun blinds, reading lights, foot supports and armrests are also included, along with a multi-function steering wheel, independent heating and a coolbox.
MAN’s ‘Plus’ infotainment package is also included, which combines upgraded sound system, MAN Media Truck Advanced navigation radio with specialist truck-navigation software, USB input for music and a charger for smartphones, infra-red remote control and Bluetooth hands-free system.
MAN said it will be launching the ‘100 Years Edition’ TGX D38 throughout Europe, with the first customers taking delivery of the trucks in July 2015.
