A limited edition V8 truck from Scania called the Flying Griffin has arrived in the UK.
The truck was created to celebrate the manufacturer’s new 770hp V8 engine.
Scania made the announcement in September about the limited run of Flying Griffin trucks.
In addition, it confirmed that just 16 would be built and they all sold out within six hours.
Every Flying Griffin model boasts a Highline cab with a number badge and an LED premium lighting pack.
Furthermore, the trucks all feature air horns, Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels and Scania’s recent matt grey V8 grille.
Meanwhile, there are more badges on the inside of the cab and drivers benefit from the full V8 specification.
Specifically, this means the V8 styling, infotainment and navigation pack as well as a coffee maker, fridge and microwave.
“Operators the length and breadth of the country are passionate in their desire to own a flagship model Scania truck,” said Vincente Connolly, Scania’s UK sales director.
“With no pun intended, it clearly demonstrates the exceptional pulling power of the Scania V8!”
Connolly hailed the new arrival as a “very special truck indeed”.
“No other brand can match the cachet of a Limited Edition Scania,” he added.
Meanwhile, Flying Griffin customers get more than just a limited edition V8 truck with their purchase.
Each one comes with a Jackson ‘King V’ electric guitar, decorated with a bespoke airbrushing by Sims Spray Shop.
Famous clients of the shop include Pink Floyd’s Dave Gilmour, Queen’s Brian May and The Rolling Stones.
The guitars, together with a Flying Griffin certificate of authentication, will be presented to owners later this year.
In conclusion, Connolly said customers could choose between the guitar’s Flying Griffin livery or their own branding.
