With sustainability on the agenda, Iveco supported the Platinum Jubilee Pageant in London last Sunday.
The truck manufacturer’s involvement took place with specialist event haulier, KB Event.
In total, Iveco supplied three of S-Way tractor units.
The trucks were used to pull three of the Pageant’s floats.
Two S-Ways were CNG-powered, which provided a sustainable approach to the event.
They pulled the 1970s Northern Soul Trailer and the Platinum Pals float.
The latter featured a number of popular children’s characters including Postman Pat and Sooty & Sweep.
Meanwhile, the third S-Way (AS440S49TX/P) pulled the 1980s Breakdance float.
The Platinum Jubilee Pageant was designed to celebrate the Queen’s duty, love of the natural world and dedication to the Commonwealth.
Vincenzo Nicolo’, business director, Iveco UK & ROI was delighted with how the event went.
“When we were approached by KB Event to provide tractor units to pull the spectacular floats in the Platinum Jubilee Pageant we were delighted to help.
“Our S-Way Natural Gas vehicles powered by bio-CNG also contributed to reduced emissions of the parade.”
Richard Burnett, managing director of KB Events shared the enthusiasm.
“KB Event is leading the way with sustainable solutions to events and tours.
“We currently use non palm-oil HVO Biofuel on a number of our contracts.
“We’re also continually exploring new alternatives as they come onto the market.
The S-Way vehicles were a key ingredient to helping make the Platinum Jubilee Pageant an environmentally friendly event success.”
The S-WAY Natural Gas line-up offers reduce fleet emissions with either compressed or liquified biomethane.
The trucks help the environment by emitting up to 95% less CO2.
In addition, they emit up to 50% less noise than the equivalent diesel.
