Infinity Container Logistics has strengthened its fleet with the arrival of ten new Volvo FH Aero 6×2 tractor units, which are already demonstrating superior fuel efficiency compared to the company’s existing trucks.

The Felixstowe-based operator, which specialises in containerised haulage to and from ports across the UK, selected the FH Aero models to replace older Volvo units. With each truck covering around 180,000 km per year, efficiency and reliability are key factors in the company’s procurement decisions.

Fuel Efficiency and Reliability at the Forefront

Speaking on the new fleet additions, Luke Grayling, General Manager at Infinity Container Logistics, said:

“We were keen to see the MPG potential of the new Aero, and the initial impressions are very good. We currently run a mixed fleet of over 90 trucks from different manufacturers and look forward to seeing the true potential of these new assets.

“Volvo offers a great overall package. Fuel is obviously hugely important, but downtime is the single biggest threat to our business. The Volvos are very reliable, and the backup we get from the service department is outstanding.”

The Volvo FH Aero promises up to five per cent fuel and emissions savings compared to a standard FH model, thanks to refined aerodynamics and innovative technology.

Turbo Compound Technology Enhances Performance

The new trucks were supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus South & East, with Matt Kubot, Transport Solutions Executive, overseeing the deal. Each unit is powered by a Euro 6-compliant D13TC Step E engine, featuring turbo compound technology. This system captures excess exhaust energy and converts it into additional torque—boosting efficiency without increasing fuel consumption.

Paired with Volvo’s 12-speed I-Shift automated gearbox and I-See predictive cruise control, the FH Aero ensures optimum fuel efficiency, further lowering running costs for Infinity Container Logistics.

Driver Comfort and Safety Features

Infinity Container Logistics prioritised driver comfort when specifying the trucks, equipping each with:

  • Heated and ventilated driver’s seat
  • Rotating passenger seat
  • Leather upholstery in the Globetrotter cab
  • A 33-litre under-bunk fridge/freezer
  • Rear cab storage
  • Single bunk with mattress overlay protector

Externally, the trucks feature Dura-Bright alloy wheels and Volvo’s Camera Monitoring System (CMS), which replaces traditional wing mirrors. This boosts aerodynamics and enhances visibility, especially in low-light and adverse weather conditions. The system’s auto-panning function follows the rear of the trailer when turning, improving situational awareness for the driver.

“The drivers are all die-hard Volvo fans, so we wanted to make sure they liked their new trucks,” added Grayling. “These FH Aeros definitely tick the box.”

Comprehensive Maintenance for Fleet Uptime

Each of the new Volvo FH Aeros is backed by a Volvo Gold Contract, covering preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure maximum uptime. This gives Infinity Container Logistics complete peace of mind, allowing its fleet to operate efficiently across its UK-wide network.

Founded in 2017, Infinity Container Logistics has rapidly built a reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality container transport. With this latest fleet upgrade, the company continues to invest in efficiency, sustainability, and driver satisfaction.
