The Commercial Vehicle Show, once a cornerstone event in the UK road transport calendar, has announced a comprehensive rebrand in a bid to reassert its relevance in a changing industry. Dubbed “Fuelling Change – The Route to Net Zero”, the new theme underlines a strategic pivot toward sustainability, electrification, and digital transformation.
Set to return to the NEC Birmingham from 21–23 April 2026, the show promises a revitalised experience featuring updated content, new partnerships, and an expanded marketing approach. Organisers claim this reimagined format will deliver deeper insights and more effective engagement across key issues such as clean energy, connected technologies, and operational efficiency.
Nick Davison, newly appointed Event Director, said the overhaul is about more than aesthetics. “We’re stepping up to lead the industry through real change,” he commented, expressing optimism about repositioning the event as a hub for innovation and progress.
However, the rebrand comes against the backdrop of years of declining influence. Once regarded as the UK’s premier showcase for commercial vehicles, the CV Show has faced stiff competition from more agile, specialist events and a shift in how companies choose to engage with their markets. Attendance and exhibitor enthusiasm have waned, prompting concerns about its long-term viability.
Whether this new direction can reverse that trend remains to be seen. A second, still-unnamed announcement is expected next week to further underscore the show’s ambitions.
The CV Show now banks on its role as the UK’s only event uniting the full spectrum of the commercial vehicle industry—from logistics and fleet operators to energy and manufacturing players—to reclaim its spot at the centre of the sector’s future.
