The used truck market is buoyant at the moment.
As a result, Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new way of acquiring ‘premium quality used trucks’.
‘Certified’ delivers ‘complete peace of mind for used truck buyers’, says the manufacturer.
For example, buyers will have access to the industry’s best pre-owned trucks and support packages.
Furthermore, the initiative is backed up by attention to detail.
The trucks offered with a Certified stamp undergo an intensive, multi-point inspection by expert technicians.
This work is undertaken at the company’s Wentworth Park site, home to MB’s commercial vehicle remarketing operation.
In addition, no used truck offered for sale under the Certified banner will be more than five-and-a-half years old.
The vehicles will not have covered more than 550,000km, either.
Also, there are other benefits to the scheme.
For example, the first service will not be due for at least 20,000km.
Importantly, tyres will have a tread depth of no less than 6mm when offered for sale.
Tom Morris, head of used trucks at Mercedes-Benz, explained more.
“We understand that it’s not easy to find the right used truck,” he said.
“Therefore, we created Certified.
Continuing, he described the offering as ‘a personal guarantee that a vehicle has been meticulously prepared by Mercedes-Benz truck specialists’.
“If a truck hasn’t been through our dedicated facility, then it hasn’t been Certified,” he confirmed.
Importantly, customers have a 14-day right to exchange, subject to terms and conditions.
The range of products covered by the certified programme is impressive.
For example, everything from 7.5-tonne rigids to 44-tonne tractor units, will be available.
Furthermore, heavy-haulage used truck variant will also be available.
