The handover of five DAF LF55 18-tonners to Northamptonshire palletised distribution operator Freightroute has marked a 20-year relationship with the supplying dealer Brian Currie (Milton Keynes) Ltd.
“We sold our first DAF to Freightroute 20 years ago, soon after the company had been established – and since then, both companies have enjoyed an excellent and mutually beneficial relationship,” said Brian Currie. “Over the past two decades we have seen their family-run business grow substantially, and we’re delighted to have played some part in that success.”
The LF55s were spec’d with 6.7-litre DAF GR165 six-cylinder engines rated at 220 bhp (165 kW) at between 1900- 2500 rpm, giving a torque output of 850 Nm between 1200-1700 rpm. They are matched to six-speed AS-Tronic automated transmissions, with 11.5- tonne parabolic SR1132 rear axles completing the driveline.
