Family-owned operator Reason Transport has made fleet additions with an investment in five Volvo trucks.
In fact, the quintet are the first from the brand to join the ranks.
Reason has acquired two new Volvo FH 460 with I-Save and three FM 460 6×2 tractor units.
Each of the fleet additions offers a very high specification, complete with spacious Globetrotter cabs.
Supplied by Volvo Truck & Bus Centre South & East, the five new trucks have been welcomed to the hauliers’ Coventry headquarters.
Micheal Reason, director of operations at the Coventry-based business, admitted he’d always had an eye on Volvo Trucks.
“I’ve always viewed Volvo Trucks as being a premium brand,” he said.
“Therefore, when we were in the market for new vehicles, Volvo was the first name on our list.”
Continuing, Reason said the drivers were very excited about this switch and “can’t wait to put them to the test”.
Fuel efficiency on long-haul routes was a key consideration for Reason Transport’s new FH.
Therefore, the addition of I-Save technology was an essential part of the specification.
In addition, they benefit from the economic D13KTC engine, which sill offers a peak torque of 2,600Nm.
Working in combination with the truck’s I-See predictive cruise control, this engine makes it possible to tackle hills and gradients in a higher gear.
As a result, drivers save fuel without losing speed, thereby providing a smoother ride.
Meanwhile, the company’s three new FMs have also been built to return maximum efficiency.
Volvo’s 460hp D13K engine and Long Haul Fuel Economy driving package help meet performance targets.
The fleet additions, will operate five days a week and cover at least 60,000km annually.
Servicing will be carried at the local Coventry dealership, conveniently located just half a mile away.
