The RHA has announced the launch of its eleventh National Lorry Week (NLW) – its annual celebration of the people and businesses that keep Britain moving.
The campaign which runs from 3-9 November, focuses on promoting skills and careers in the sector.
It will shine a spotlight on the industry’s dynamism to inspire the next generation of talented individuals to consider a career path that offers stability, skill development, and genuine opportunity for growth.
This year’s theme is ‘Driven By You’ in recognition of the incredible job people from across the sector do to ensure the country is stocked.
New for this year’s NLW is the ‘Lorry Legends’ campaign where the RHA urges people in the industry to nominate the unsung heroes, drivers, technicians, warehouse teams and others who deserve recognition.
In another first, the RHA encourages operators to show their support during NLW with a limited edition trailer door wrap with profits going to the RHA Benevolent Fund. All participants will be featured in the NLW campaign.
The RHA’s driving simulator van will also travel to events across the country to give would-be drivers a taste of what it’s like to get behind the wheel.
Richard Smith, RHA Managing Director, said: “I’m delighted to announce the launch of this year’s National Lorry Week which has become a firm fixture in the industry calendar.
“The people in our sector do a fantastic job keeping the economy moving so it’s only right they get the recognition they deserve through this campaign.
“The campaign is a powerful call to action for the next generation. We want to show young people and others looking for a new direction that a career in logistics is not just a job, but a dynamic, essential, and rewarding path full of opportunity.”
“I’d encourage everyone in our industry to get involved in our celebrations though social media, the National Lorry Week website and through their own activities.
“We should all be very proud of the role we play – let’s celebrate it in National Lorry Week.”
