Compass Energy, a specialist fuel supplier and sister company to Rockley Transport, has strengthened its operations with the addition of a Renault Trucks D26 Wide 6×2 rigid tanker. The purchase, made through RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV), supports the company’s fuel deliveries across Bristol, South Wales, the Southeast, the Midlands, and Lincolnshire.
Following Compass Energy’s continued success in the Midlands and a strong relationship with RHCV, the decision to invest in the Renault Trucks D26 Wide was driven by its impressive manoeuvrability and reliability. Stuart Morgan, Managing Director at Compass Energy, said: “The trucks look smart and perform well. Their manoeuvrability is impressive – which is an important factor as they are required to get into tight spots.”
Morgan also praised the quality of service from RHCV: “The R&M package and service have been fantastic. With the recent acquisition of Coventry and the location of Leicester, RHCV is even more convenient for us.”
Manoeuvrability and Reliability for Urban Deliveries
The Renault Trucks D26 Wide is equipped with a compact chassis, making it ideal for navigating congested urban areas where Compass Energy often operates. Its tight turning radius and precise steering ensure smooth access to confined spaces. Enhanced visibility is achieved through well-placed mirrors, an external sun-visor, and an optional passenger-side vision door with a lower clear window to reduce blind spots.
The truck’s 20,000-litre fuel tank, manufactured by Cobo Tankers in Spain, is designed to carry petrol and hazardous goods. Safety features include a reversing warning buzzer to alert pedestrians and other road users.
To support long-term operations, the vehicle comes with a comprehensive seven-year full Repair and Maintenance (R&M) package. This includes regular servicing, breakdown cover, and parts warranty.
With this latest addition, Compass Energy continues to enhance its efficiency and reliability for customers across various sectors, including households, farms, construction sites, and industrial plants. The company looks forward to further strengthening its partnership with RHCV.
