Fuel distributor and haulage firm, Carnegie Fuels, has taken delivery of six more Fruehauf tippers to add to the two previous trailers it purchased from the same manufacturer last year.
The Brechin-based company will use the new stepframe Smoothsider tippers for the agricultural side of its business, transporting malt and barley to whisky producers in Scotland and potatoes to firms across England.
Director Kevin Carnegie says: “The initial trailers from Fruehauf were the perfect spec for our business and impressed, so it was a no-brainer to put in a larger order to help with the company’s growth.
“Thanks to the firm’s production capabilities in Grantham, it delivered these new units in time for this summer’s harvest, unlike other trailer manufacturers offering much longer lead times. Now, more than half our bulk tippers are from Fruehauf –for good reason. It makes great trailers that are very well built and look fantastic.”
Joining a fleet of 26 trucks and 15 bulk tipping trailers, the 70 cubic yard capacity tippers are specified with remote-controlled weigh loaders and electric easy sheets, which the driver can operate from inside the cab.
