Garmin has introduced a new smartwatch that is designed specifically for professional truck drivers.
The Instinct 2 – dēzl Edition watch allows drivers to monitor their health while out on the road.
For example, it can track heart rate, sleep and stress.
Furthermore, when outside of the cab, drivers can take part in purpose-build workouts.
Specifically, Garmin is hoping that the new smartwatch will help encourage a healthier lifestyle.
In addition, the company is reinforcing its support for driver health and mental wellbeing.
Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of global consumer sales, explained more.
“With the new Instinct 2 – dēzl Edition smartwatch, truck drivers can take control of their wellness both in and out of the cab.
“The watch is easy to use and loaded with helpful trucking features.”
Continuing, Bartell added: “The sedentary nature of long hauls can be physically demanding.
“Therefore, this watch will promote healthy practices while truck drivers perform their vital daily job functions.”
The new smartwatch offers many health metrics for drivers to take into account.
For example, drivers can view workout tutorials via the dēzl app on their smartphone.
In addition, there is the option of all-day monitoring of heart rate, stress levels, and hydration.
Finally, it will encourage drivers to take a break from the job and track daily steps.
Meanwhile, the new Garmin’s attributes make it ideally suited for truck drivers, says the company.
Firstly, it has a scratch-resistant glass display and sweat-proof silicone band.
It will also last up to 28 days in smartwatch mode.
Secondly, the new smartwatch works with Garmin Pay, enabling contactless payments from the smartwatch.
Finally, it will pair with any Garmin’s dēzl LGV series truck sat navs.
As a result, drivers will be able to display data on either of the screens.
